Oh but the stress....

As a patient or a caregiver your body is undergoing a high level of stress. There are so many changes happening and you trying to figure out so many things. You may have bills you did not anticipate, taking on the emotional state of others around you, your job, finances, mobility, etc. It is so important that you try your best to manage the stress level.

It’s ok ask for help around the house, ask for rides so you do t have to deal with driving yourself or public transportation, if you can try to coordinate appointments so you can lessen the amount of times you are traveling back and forth to doctor's office, ask family and/or friends to cook. They may not seem like a lot but it will help.

Studies have found that stress seems to worsen or increase the risk of conditions like obesity, heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, depression, gastrointestinal problems, and asthma. Your immune system is not optimal when you are sick or under stress. You can not afford to make your current situation worst. You have to keep stress down. You may not have the energy to exercise because of your fatigue level but you may be able to do other things like get a massage, have a restful nap, watch a funny movie, or just do something that brings you joy.

This process is hard enough with out the additional stress.
